A Cozy Home with Rustic and Modern Touches

Updated: Oct 28

Residential Project Germany

In the design of this house in Itaara, RS, the client, Francis, brought in his initial ideas, and together, we worked throughout the entire development process to turn them into a complete architectural project that met all of his expectations.

The house features a spacious social area where the living room and kitchen are integrated into an open layout, creating a fluid space perfect for socializing. This integration not only enhances functionality but also fosters a warm atmosphere, ideal for hosting friends and family. The veranda extends onto a deck, allowing for a seamless transition between the interior and exterior of the house, offering moments of outdoor leisure.

As for the private area, the house includes three bedrooms, one of which is a suite. The suite was designed to provide additional comfort and privacy, featuring an exclusive bathroom for the residents. Additionally, there is a shared bathroom that serves the other two bedrooms and the social areas of the house, ensuring day-to-day convenience.

With functionality in mind, we included a well-planned laundry room, offering a dedicated space for household upkeep, ensuring organization throughout the house.

Another highlight of the project is the garage, which is integrated with the gourmet area. This space was designed to be versatile: the garage can be used as an extension of the gourmet area for social events by simply removing the car to free up more space. This makes the environment perfect for parties and gatherings, embraced by the architecture of the house.

Externally, the house boasts a striking facade with large glass windows, which not only flood the interiors with natural light but also create a visual connection with the surrounding landscaping. We incorporated plenty of plants into the facade, creating an atmosphere of harmony between the built environment and nature.

One key element is the pergola with inclined wooden slats, designed to allow sunlight to pass through in the morning while blocking the direct midday sun until late afternoon. This helps keep the outdoor space cooler and well-lit, creating a comfortable environment throughout the day.

We used materials such as wood and ironstone for the finishes, resulting in an aesthetic that blends rustic and modern styles, perfectly aligned with the client’s taste. This project exemplifies how ideas can be transformed into reality, creating a home that perfectly reflects the residents' needs and lifestyle.
